Lincoln employees are invited to show their support to women affected by breast cancer by wearing pink shirts and ribbons to work on that day. "The vast majority of our employees are women and many of them have been touched by the disease. We want to honor and support them in any way we can," said Jennifer Staciokas , Vice President of Marketing & Training for Lincoln Property Company.
This is the second year Lincoln Property Company has hosted Communities for the Cure. Jo Ann Peaden , a tenured employee based in Dallas, Texas, made the request for LPC to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month last year. "I have been on this breast cancer journey now off and on for 17 years. I have met a few other co-workers that are also breast cancer survivors; we have talked about our journeys and how it affects our loved ones and other co-workers," says Jo Ann.
She suggested LPC show support to this cause due to the company's involvement in "many different programs to support employees and their families." One such program is Lincoln's own in-house charity, Lincoln Charities, Inc. Lincoln Charities, Inc. serves Lincoln employees and their families in times of need and is dedicated to inspiring hope and restoring welfare through the generosity of fellow employees, vendors, and business partners. "We hope that by hosting Communities for the Cure, it will encourage any of our employees faced with a hardship caused by breast cancer to come forward and request assistance," says Ms. Staciokas.
As an advocate for breast cancer awareness, Jo Ann is dedicated to helping find a cure. "Communities for the Cure is definitely a start. I am very thankful for this support from Lincoln Property Company. It is just another reason why Lincoln is the best company to work for." She also says that it proves the employer's tagline to be true – "A company for people. A company about people."
